The northern half of the this section can become tough to navigate because the trail cuts on and off of roads without any warning. there are also a lot of other trails weaving on and off of the actual trail, this makes it easy to find yourself on the wrong trail.

The actual hike from Big Pine to Samelius is enjoyable with varied scenery. As you follow the winding paths, you'll see thick forests, open meadows, and beautiful views. The ups and downs make it a moderate challenge, good for experienced hikers and those wanting an easy walk.
