Hanson-Larsen Memorial Park

This park is a lovely 320 acres of 20+ hiking and biking trials right in downtown Rapid City. The main access is off of Founders Park on Omaha St just west of I-190.

Beginning of the trail from the parking lot on the east side of the hill.

Looks like a rocky shortcut.

Getting up high. Nice view of Rapid City, South Dakota.

On the east side of the hill lots of switchbacks.

Spring is in the air.

Signs are pretty good.

Lots of choices.

Cool old car near the trail.

Deciding where to go.

Little shade.

Pretty flowers, but they are easy to miss.

Nice tree coverage here.

We did the Earth Day Challenge - 2026. One of the trails was up at Hanson - Larsen.
