The Miller Cabin

The Miller Cabin is located in Pennington county off Slate Prairie Road in South Dakota. Built in 1879, the cabin is one of the oldest standing structures in the central Black Hills. To get to the cabin you have to park at the Kinney Canyon Walk In Fishery Trailhead and walk about a mile in. There is a path - (not obvious) that goes to the northwest. You hit a gate and keep going to the northwest until you run into the cabin. The Forest Service did a special about this cabin and welcomes all visitors, but finding it was quite hard - no signs, no trails, no obvious pathways. After bushwhacking to get there, we were able to track it back to a somewhat easier way/path.

We had some trouble finding the correct route and ended up doing some bushwhacking. A GPX track would have come in handy for us.

Looking out the front deck.

There is a fence around the cabin, but you are allowed to cross the fence in the front and enter the cabin.

This is the path we followed back - not so obvious either.

This is the path to get there - overgrown and not obvious.
