State Game Lodge

The State Game Lodge is a stone and wood lodge that was built in 1920 in Custer State Park. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was the summer white house for President Calvin Coolidge in 1927, and President Dwight D. Eisenhower visited the lodge in 1953. Today there are many sleeping options in and around the lodge, several dining options, a bar, and a cool patio outside where you can have a beverage and watch the world go by. The Creekside Trail runs in front of the lodge, and it is central to many hikes and activities inside the park.
