Sage Creek Rim Road
Sage Creek Rim Road is a 25 mile dirt road that runs between Highway 240 - Badlands Loop Road and E Highway 44. There are a lot more animals - buffalos, and antelope on this road, and it is usually not as busy. The road goes to several lookout spots and a prairie dog town which seems somewhat abandoned now. The road also takes you to the Sage Creek Campground which is free. The Sage Creek Basin Overlook is the last lookout, and a good place to turn around and get back on Highway 240, and return back to Wall or continue through the rest of the park. Sage Creek Rim Road may temporarily close after winter storms and spring rains. The road provides limited turnarounds for large recreational vehicles.
