Rod And Gun Campground
Rod and Gun Campground is the closest campground to Savoy, South Dakota and is located about 2.5 miles west of Highway 14A on Roughlock Falls Road. It has 7 campsites, picnic tables, a pot toilet, and fire rings. The sites are fairly open and the campground is pretty remote. One of the "Dances with Wolves" film sites is nearby, and the campground is located adjacent to Little Spearfish Creek. There are no reservations, and it is first come, first serve.
***Note - Rod And Gun Campground closes for the season on December 1 each year. This closure is due to snowmobile traffic in the area, and no services are available from early December through mid-May***
A lot of the sites at the campground are in the sun.
