Storm Mountain/Coon Hollow

The Storm Mountain Trail is sometimes referred to as Coon Hollow. It is a 7.5-10 mile trail depending on what side trails you take. The trailhead is located just Northwest of the town of Rockerville off of Silver Mountain Rd. There are sections of this trail that are for expert riders only. I usually end up walking my bike a mile or so. Climbing and rocky terrain is rewarded by some nice downhill sections and there are some great views from high above Spring Creek.

This section in the beginning is hard. Broke my wedding ring and chipped a bone in my knee wiping out here.

Storm Mountain Half Trail

This part of the trail does not contain the extreme sections that the full trail has and it can be a fun ride. It's a little over 5 miles, so if you don't have time to ride the whole Storm Mountain Trail or don't want to deal with the tough sections, this is a nice, easier alternative. I ride this trail quite a bit.
