Ingersoll School
****Update - This school was torn down due to it falling apart as of November 2024****
Located off highway 212 right across the road from Butte County Equipment about 9 miles east of Belle Fourche is the Ingersoll School. It was built in 1890 and used as a school until 1973. With the widening of Highway 212, the school is in danger of being torn down and was put on the endangered list by the Butte County Historical Society. They are looking for a way to move the school to a better location in the future. The schoolhouse is pretty run down as for now.
