Custer State Park Biking

Custer State Park has some amazing opportunities to bike ride. You do have to be careful of the wildlife, especially the buffalo.

Biking the Creekside Trail

The Creekside Trail is a hard-surfaced trail that goes between the Grace Coolidge Campground and the Visitor’s Center. The trail is very simple, is about 2.5 miles one way, and passes the State Game Lodge, the Peter Norbeck Visitor’s Center, and the Coolidge General Store.

We rode this trail on the first day of Spring and it was amazing. Not too hard of a trail, we got to see lots of mountain goats, and it was so peaceful. It was definitely a good way to start the new season. Could easily bike the whole trail there and back in under an hour.

Start at the visitor’s center.

Nice wooden path to begin.

Signs along the way.

Crossing over into Game Lodge Campground.

Can go on the road or stay on the bike path.

Just gorgeous.

Some gates you have to go through to keep the animals out.

Passing the famous State Game Lodge.

Mountain goats in the background - really cool.

Pass a beautiful church and cabins.

Coolidge General Store for a snack - closed in the winter.

Pass over some bridges.

Up, up, and away over this hill.

At the end - Grace Coolidge Campground.

Went across the street to Grace Coolidge Trail and saw more mountain goats.

Can continue on and mountain bike the Grace Coolidge Trail - was too muddy when we were there.
