The Akta Lakota Museum And Cultural Center is located in Chamberlain, South Dakota and is supported by St. Joseph's Indian School. The museum opened in 1991 and tells the story of the Lakota people. The museum is free, but they gladly accept donations. There is also a store on site that sells photography, jewelry, paintings, pottery and quilts.
